Clinical trials done by Dr. Alan R. Hirsch found that deeply inhaling aromas before eating may help to reduce the amount eaten during the meal. His research focused on deeply inhaling the aroma of the food before the meal, and it showed that there was a connection between aromatics and our physical bodies.
This concept can be used with essential oils, by simply breathing in the aroma of the essential oils. I like to do it before each meal and/or in between meals when I am feeling the urge to eat.
It takes consistent use of essential oils to notice a difference, so stick with it for at least a week or two to really notice a difference.
Grapefruit and peppermint are the most common essential oils to help suppress appetite. Also, consider trying patchouli, lemon, and/or cinnamon.
